I JUST DON’T HAVE THE TIME…

Millions of successful entrepreneurs and network marketers started their business during their spare time. How often have you heard, “I’d like to, but I just don’t have the time”?

There are 168 hours in every week. Where does the time go? Let’s take a look:

TimeForMoney600You can either spend those 30 hours of ‘spare time’ on entertainment or use them to pursue your dream.

KICKING THE ENTERTAINMENT HABIT…

What separates the wealthy from the masses?

• The masses spend their “spare time” on entertainment.
• The wealthy spent most of their “spare time” building a business.

This is the great divide between the haves and the have-nots.

According to studies, the average person now spends over 5 hours a day on entertainment. Entertainment doesn’t always have to be television, it can be scrolling through Facebook on your smart phone, binge watching multiple episodes of a show on a tablet, watching sports, playing videos games, etc.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t enjoy any entertainment, but do so in moderation. Entertainment shouldn’t eat up nearly a third of your waking hours each day.

Don’t do that.

How much is the “entertainment habit” costing you? $10,000 a year? $100,000 a year? A million a year? More? What if kicking the entertainment habit could make you wealthy?

START A BUSINESS IN YOUR ‘ SPARE TIME’…

Fact is, if you want to be wealthy, you’ll probably have to start a part-time business. You don’t have to quit your job right away; in fact, you probably shouldn’t. One of the best ways to minimize your risk is to keep your full-time job while you start building your business during your “spare time.”

As Jim Rohn would often say, “Work full-time on your job and part-time on your fortune because profits lead to fortune.”

Do that.

Then you can say, “Right now I’m working part-time on my fortune and full-time on my job, but it won’t be long until I’ll be working full-time on my fortune. Can you imagine what life is going to be like?”

Eventually you’ll say, “My part-time business did so well that I was able to quit my full-time job. Now I can use those extra hours to build my business bigger.”

BUY BACK YOUR TIME…

If your business creates a passive income, it can help you to ‘buy back your time.’

Passive income (also referred to as residual income), is an income received on a regular basis, with little effort required to maintain it.

Intellectual property income like royalties from a book, an album or licensing a patent; interest income; property income; or income from a business that no longer requires much direct involvement; these are all examples of passive income.

Many people are now realizing that a network marketing business can be started in their ‘spare-time’ and, if built properly, can produce a great passive income for them.

What does ‘buy back your time’ mean? It means the weekly passive income created from your business more than covers the income you were earning by working for someone else. The passive income literally ‘buys back’ all those job hours for you. Since your business earns you a passive income, you no longer need to trade your time for money.

TURN ‘FREE TIME’ INTO ‘FREEDOM TIME!”

Most people say they have ‘no time’ to pursue their dreams. Yet, most people spend about 5 hours a day of their ‘free time’ on entertainment.

Some people use that ‘free time’ to start a part-time business. Eventually, when their business allows them to quit their job, their 40 ‘job time’ hours become 40 ‘business-building’ hours. And over time, by leveraging their business into a residual income, they replace their ‘business-building’ hours with an extra 40 ‘free-time’ hours! Combined with their existing 30 ‘free-time’ hours, they now have a total of 70 ‘freedom-time’ hours every week!

Freedom Time: When you have both the time and the money to live your dream life.

With a passive-income business, your 168 hours every week could look like this:

PassiveIncome600

HOW ARE YOU SPENDING YOUR ‘SPARE TIME’?

We all have the same 24 hours each day. Beyoncé, Richard Branson, Oprah, Elon Musk, along with every successful entrepreneur and Network Marketer all have the same 24 hours each day. It’s your choice how you spend your “spare time.” Choose wisely. #NoExcuses

COMMENT BELOW! If all your “work time” became “free time,” what’s one of the first things you would do? How would your life change?

Create your success!

  1. I would write a second book, and paint paint paint – till I dropped. Well I would take the time to invent and from that start a new business but only for 1 day a week. 6 days to dream and act out the dreams, one day to work with all my heart and passion, and the new insight.

  2. I would be there for my 5 children educating them the best skills to leave a better lives than i have leaved. Cause being there for what i have honesly natured is the best thing in my life.

  3. if my Work time Became my free time, i’ll spend it in Building People, Sharing How my work time became my Free Time. part of to my Family.

  4. If my work time became my free time I’d volunteer in my community, travel the world with my family, and then probably continue to do the work I do right now for free – simply because I love my work!

  5. This reminds me of the Dave Ramsey phrase, “Like no one else so you can live like no one else”. If all of my work time was converted to free time I would volunteer in many other areas for the food pantry, homeless shelters and visit with the elderly more often. It’s coming.

  6. When I am in the position to have enough money, so I don’t have to worry about paying bills…what a loaded question. I have asked that to myself very often since I have gotten in network marketing one year ago. What would give me the most fulfillment would be helping others. I want to be a leader to help new associates coming into MLM be successful. Everyone comes into this business for one reason or another. They all want to change their lives. It would mean so much to me if I can be a mentor to them, just like people showed up for me. THAT, is what I want to do. God willing, I will be in a position in the next 3-4 years to do just that.

IN addition, I want to give my time and money to Wounded Warriors projects. They give their lives for us, that is the least I can do for them. They are getting a bad rap and come home with DSD and no limbs. They need our help. That would be where my heart is, as it is now. I give as much as I can now, but it’s not very much. I am hoping that can change.

Thank you for asking this question.

  7. I would definitely travel more and visit family and friends in other states and countries. I would make my health and wellness more of a priority and hire a personal CHEF and trainer AND I’d long to find a way to help the elderly who live such lonely lives. They give so much to so many and it’s so sad for me to see how so many in assisted living facilities and nursing homes are so “alone” and bored. I think that make their minds even more confused..just sitting and waiting. If I had ALOT of money I would get with the right people and design and build facilities that encourage community with inside “front porches” and ensure there was incentives to have ample caring, capable and well paid staff to care for the residents and not be limited by the ratios that the government approves. It’s far too little help for the number of residents. It’s a dream as I watch my handicapped mom now living at the mercy of those regulations and I’d give more to charitable organizations and help those in need. I really liked the show Secret Millionaires…I’d like to be one! :)

  8. I will use it to invest in myself. Sometimes that would look like reading, studying various home study materials, going to Yoga classes, meditating, various development courses around my area. I will use it to network more. I will use it to rest. I will use it to build my business to that next level. I will use it to do whatever I want to do because it will be mine.

  2. We’ve committed to do again what we’ve already done….help another 60 people reach an income of $100,000.00 per year (60 already reached $100,000 to $600,000.00) and in doing so help them become the best they can be thereby becoming the best we can be through the personal development required to reach such a target.

  3. My Goal for 2015 is to become the best me that I can possibly be that will be by growing and realizing that helping other people grow to the best that they can be is the only way to achieve success personally.
As Zig Ziglar said ” If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want” there for by helping others find their spot in the world to contribute the gifts they have, you find your peace of mind and happiness of your own gifts.May everyone find their gifts and happiness and the world would be at peace.

  4. My goal is to make a dvd with a companion cd that will entice future network marketers to try our products while at the same time detail the products that would lead them to sign up with me.

  5. To teach as many as I can by example that people can achieve Wellness, Purpose, Abundance through the use of Young Living products. They can achieve emotional balance, spiritual freedom and live a balanced supportive healthy lifestyle. To teach people there are alternatives to what is mainstream and that a Young Living Lifestyle is becoming mainstream and how they can gain financial freedom simply by sharing from their hearts.

  6. One goal for 2015 is to take my hybrid work situation and transition to being 100% SendOutCards! You see, I’ve had the same full-time job for 14 years and in early October of this year I went to part-time so that I can build my SendOutCards business :)

  1. Network Marketing lets me think great and imagine my best life forever :) in this industry I improve my communication skills and it removes all my fears.my Boyfriend & me working together very hard from 1.5 years till now and we have a lot of dreams such as marriage, romantic honeymoon, champagne, red rose,…… ;) we believe in this industry and we will achieve all of our dreams. Wish us luck please! tnx Art.

  2. We believe that Network Marketing is not on a trial basis, it is a true profession and when asked “Is this network marketing opportunity?” we say of course it is would I want to be involved with anything but that to create time and financial freedom in our lives and others? It opens the door to share why it is you are attracted to the company you “professionally” represent. You do not have to make excuses or convince anybody of your belief. If you believe in what you are doing the sky is the only limit and your beliefs. So as another guy says “go tell the world.”

  3. NWM is truly THE ONLY industry & niche where ANYBODY regardless of their age, education, skills, physical condition, location or socio economic status can find an equal opportunity ground to join, learn and quickly scale up to any desired level. As CEO of Network Marketing Success Magazine, it is a delight to not just meet many top leaders from the industry but also people from all age groups and backgrounds… 65+ aged grandmothers, single moms with no earlier work experience, youth with weak formal education, even someone who has never ever been able to afford “a shirt” ever before in life but earns enough to own 2 cars today – all these people have found financial freedom and helped others in the path, thanks only to our wonderful industry. NWM Rocks!

  4. Network marketing is no longer the wave of the future it is the mandate of the present. We build bridges,we connect people,we develop our minds,we make the seemingly impossible -possible .Best of all we live our dreams as we change the world together!

  5. I love the simple fundamental design and that to grow, takes personal development. Personally, I’m driven by achieving future freedom and the journey is the bonus, often disguised as frustrations.

  6. I love that anyone can succeed in network marketing no matter what your background is. All you need is persistence and a commitment to be consistent and you can change many lives in the process of changing your own.

  7. The one thing I love about Network Marketing. That is an easy one. It gives me hope.

After losing jobs in corp America, not once but twice in my lifetime, and the second time I was going out of my way to provide value to my employer, network marketing has shown me how to do it myself. Take personal charge and responsibility for MY life. It gives me hope that I will one day make it and have and do what I want not just for myself but to be able to help others. To give others that hope as well.

I’m not a big time earner yet. I just hit the 2k per month mark which has really made me realize that, yes, the bigger numbers are possible. The future now looks brighter and much more hopeful.

Thanks to all your post. It’s folks like you #EricWorre #RayHigdon #ToddFalcone #KeithHalls #TomChenault that make it possible for people like me to follow in your footsteps and save a lot of time and money along the way. Thanks again

  8. My husband and I have been full time in the industry for 25 years and we raised our three kiddos in NWM. They have people skills and are entrepreneurs now themselves with a “street smart” beyond their age!

  9. I love that network marketing is about empowering people you care about to “go for their dreams”…and then enjoying the journey with them! Relationships, freedom, and financial security are so beautiful and worth sharing with everyone we care about. Network marketing will allow my wife and I to pursue our big dream of “walking the beaches of the world” with our best friends!

  1. Really? Then you had better call the police and have me arrested. By the way, if you are working for a company or you own one that employs people, then the police will arrest you too for being involved in a pyramid. If you want while we wait for the cops, I will explain exactly what I mean.

  2. Any answer that indicates either Yes it is or No it is not just furthers the distrust the public has for us. Being Right is Wrong. The only appropriate response is….” What do you mean by that?” And listen with an open heart and mind.

  3. if any person says “is it a pyramid scheme?”, my reply will be

” oh if u know about pyramid schemes , i believe that u are also aware of the pyramid systems which we see every day and which are legal among them, our school, college management, all mnc’s are pyramid systems……

top there will be CEO, then GENERAL MANAGERS, then MANAGERS, then GROUND STAFF……

value flows from top to bottom, power flows from bottom to top which is legal pyramid…….. the same is happening with NETWORK MARKETING…….

PRODUCTS N SERVICES flowing from (company) top to bottom, power is flowing from bottom to top…. SO the one we will be dealing with absolutely legal pyramid and pyramid systems are every where to see”

  4. I’d say, “Hey, power of the pyramid, man.” (Fist bump) Then ask, “But really – how do you mean, a pyramid scam?” And let them describe what that means to them – and then listen – and prove I listened by repeating it back to them in an even clearer and more dramatic way. They have to feel that I understand the matter from their point of view – then they can begin to relax and become open to the idea that this business is really the opposite of all those nasty pyramid scam things. Credit to Richard Brooke for this general approach to objections.

  5. “This is a pyramid scheme!”

“Well, actually it is a distribution network made of a large number of partners and customers, but…I am just curious…is your mother or father from Egypt?”

    “Uh…no, why?”

“Well I think I’ve heard somewhere that Egyptians have a tendency to see pyramids everywhere…ok, never mind, what else would you like to know?”

Caution: it doesn’t work if your prospect is Egyptian :)

Thank you for the picture, it is awesome.

  6. What do you mean by a pyramid scheme?
When they answer, if they actually explain themselves, I say, “nope, this is not one of those.”

  7. No, pyramid schemes are illegal and I have no interest in anything illegal.

My company makes products for health and wellness and that is my passion. My interest is to share my wonderful products with those who will benefit, and if they purchase I get a thank you check from my company. This is person to person sharing rather than marketing through commercials or expensive media advertising. I find it more personable and FUN!

  8. Isn’t this a pyramid? No! The pyramids are in Egypt. Why would you want one of those things? Where would you put it? Seriously. If your talking about one of those illegal scams. It’s not one of those things. What it is is a way of distributing products directly to consumers. I have a company that supplies me with a product. I help find them customers. Every time that customer orders or reorders a product I get paid a commission.

  9. I know how you feel, I felt the same way, but I found out that this is completely different. In a pyramid, the person on the top makes more money than anyone else in the organization.

In our company, it doesn’t matter who sponsor’s who. I can make more money than the person who sponsored them. It’s entirely based on your own merit. Any one of us can surpass the other at any time.

It’s completely different in corporate America. There, the CEO makes more than the President, the President makes more than the Vice Presidents, etc. etc. To me, that sounds more like a pyramid.

  10. No, this is network marketing.

In this profession we actually have an opportunity to not only change our lives and achieve our dreams, but also to help others do the same. Your job is more like a pyramid.

  11. If I get asked, “Is this a “Pyramid”?

I say “No!” Then I tell my story, “I use to to be in one when I worked in Corporate America until I was 34. Now I’m 39 and enjoy owning a global business from home that has residual income.”

  12. Well, let me tell you what we do… then you can call it what you want. We market a valuable service to people that need it and get paid a commission.

We also help other people set up the same kind of business and receive overrides. Does that sound like something you would be interested in?

  13. “Is this one of those pyramid things?”

Here’s what I say, “Well, I don’t know about that. Why don’t I just tell you what I do to get paid this kind of money and that way you can call it whatever you want?” :)

  14. When someone responds with ‘Is this a pyramid scheme?’ I respond by asking them a question like:

“What exactly are you referring to or what do you think a pyramid scheme is?”

More than likely they are referring to a certain program or just responding to something they have heard through the grapevine so to speak…

  15. Its a “pyramid scheme?”

No, its not. A “pyramid scheme” is an illegal business where people are paid for recruiting and the money paid by the people joining later is paid to the ones who joined before.

In network marketing, you are not paid to recruit. Let me repeat that — you are not paid to recruit. You are paid when you or your recruits actually sells the products. I could go out today and recruit 100 people and not make a penny. If, however, I go out today and recruit one person who buys some products or shows them to a friend who buys them, then I would make money. Its all about showing people both the products and the opportunity and letting them decide which one might be right for them. You don’t get paid to recruit in network marketing.

  16. Certainly not!

In a Pyramid scheme you only make your money when someone joins below you. So the last person loses their investment.

In my company you are supplying a valuable product to your customer and earn your money directly.

  17. I ask them, “What is a Pyramid?”

When they answer, I say, ‘No, we aren’t like that. We actually work with a marketing company that deals with million dollar industries and we earn commissions from marketing the services of these industries.’

  1. I LOVE this topic! AND YES! I truly believe you can Lead with LOVE which is how I operate my business!
I always serve from my heart first which has created for me much abundance in close & genuine relationships throughout my life.
Now, as a Professional Network Marketer, this way of being has not only continued to bless me with new friendships but also, financial abundance!!
I have a business that fills me up with so much joy because I love first and then the Universe, just happens to compensate me for loving and others and helping them to get healthier! :-)

  2. Yes. I think it’s imperative for long-term success.

Richard Branson: I think the most important thing about running a company is to remember all the time what a company is. A company is simply a group of people. And as a leader of people you have to be a great listener and you have to be a great motivator. You have to be very good at praising and looking for the best in people. People are no different from flowers. If you water flowers they flourish, if you praise people they flourish. And that is a critical attribute of a leader.

It’s amazing how people think 4 years is a long time to succeed in a Network Marketing business… but think it’s alright to stay broke at a job for 40 years.

COMMENT BELOW ►►► Do you think the traditional “40-Year Plan” over?
Why or why not? Would people prefer a 20-year, 10-year or 4-year plan?

Build it once. Build it BIG. Build it to last a lifetime of INCOME!

  2. With me, it was like 8 years job, then 4 year self-employed, then 4 years hard work in MLM, then freedom until now – almost 15 years. But the big change was brought by Robert Kiyosaki. I am sure that more and more people are thinnking about freedom, and the key is financial lteracy. And, I am sure that most people don’t bother and prefer not to think – unfortunately. Well, it’s a free world. I don’t mind to go to restaurants where people work for a living, as the money I spend there servt e others, while at the same time I a get service.
If people realize and have the guts to go for their dream, I guess, it doesn’t matter which path in life they choose – as long as they are happy.

  3. 40 years vs 4 years…
Because it has been drilled into your head, that’s life, deal with it!
When one has never been around anyone in their life time that has been successful by way of ” Network Marketing “, there is NO belief.
First thoughts, a waste of time, don’t waste your money! Unless you are open minded enough to think out of the box, you will never understand what you are missing, the friends you will make. It is difficult when all around you from those closest to you, all you hear is negative. That is when you show strength and determination to prove this system works, by those who have already had to prove to others as well as you do now. STAY STRONG, STAY FOCUSED!
Success will be yours, don’t miss the ride!!!

  4. My wife and I almost worked the forty years plan then came across Utility Warehouse in the UK. Last month we received notification that my wife’s state pension, which was due to be paid this month, it’s not now being paid for another 6 YES 6 years when she reaches 66. Am I glad we chose plan B, Network Marketing. Just wish we had come across it sooner.

  5. The 40 year plan was already fading, and recent government mandates (like Obamacare, unemployment insurance, etc) have made it harder for employers to hire full-time employees. Many employees have had their hours cut, but their bills were not. We will see an increase of independent contractors and people needing to create small businesses in order to bridge income gaps.

Would you rather earn LINEAR INCOME or RESIDUAL INCOME?
Let’s find out…

Linear Income: With a job, you trade time for money. At the end of the week, your boss pays you for the work you did that week. The next week you start from zero. You have to put in the work again to get paid. Linear income is directly related to the number of hours you work. If you work 40 hours, you get paid for 40 hours of work.

Residual Income: Unlike a paycheck from a job, when you develop a “residual income” you don’t have to start from zero every week, or every month. You don’t have to start over from zero ever again. Residual income means never having to “start over.”

Why? Because when you earn a residual income, your income compounds from the work you are currently doing and the work you have already done! The work you did last week continues to pay you this week, as does the work you did two weeks ago, and three weeks ago, and four weeks ago, etc… all the way back to the week you first started earning a residual income.

You do the work right ONE TIME, you can get paid AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN for a LONG TIME!

Here’s the best part, a Network Marketing business offers you the chance at a residual income! After all, you have residual bills that you pay every month… why not have a residual income?

  5. As someone just starting the direct network marketing business, as I’m currently working and receiving linear income. The idea of receiving residual income is a must. As previously an employer decided he did not have enough to meet his payroll and therefore the linear income was not there. I will never go through that again… residual income will be a definite!

  6. I love that my residual income is based on my efforts, my performance, and I can give myself a raise at any time. Unlike a “job” where you get paid the same amount regardless.

  7. The one thing I love about residual income is:
It give me time to look for other opportunities with residual income and in the meantime I am an example for others that it can be done if you treat it as a normal business which you start as an owner

  8. Residual income gives me freedom to spend time with my grandbabies and family without worrying about a 9 to 5 job, to give more to my church and time for community service that I would otherwise not be able to do.

  9. The one thing I love about residual income is that I am empowering my loved ones – family and friends – to live the life of their dreams, for generations!

  10. Residual income gives me the freedom to be available for my grandchildren and the privilege to live life while building new relationships from wherever I am.

  11. the one thing i love about residual income is that its a money counter for how many you have help to achieve their dreams. huge residual income=have help many people to change their life and that is the best feeling:D

  12. People will walk through brickwalls to get residual income when they understand it. :) courtesy of the MM event. So am I for the past 2,5 years. Big up for everyone in the industry. I hope we all make it ;) R.K.

  13. Residual income empowers one to own oneself, which is to the most important aspect of ones career, doing what you love, empowering others, traveling the world, total freedom. Louis.

What if someone says, “Isn’t this a pyramid?”

Here is how Tom “Big Al” Schreiter’s friend Robert answers that objection. He uses a story that changes the entire direction of the conversation. Here’s what he says.

“Before I answer your question, is it okay if I ask you a quick question?”

“When you were getting your formal education at school, if your teachers would have received a small percentage of your earnings for the rest of your life, do you think your formal education would have been better?”

The prospect answers, “Of course.”

Robert continues, “Well, that is how network marketing works. Your sponsor wants to teach and train you to be as successful as possible, because the only way your sponsor can earn money is by making you successful.”

And with this simple, short story, the objection goes away and is replaced with a benefit.

Remember…

Residual income means never having to start over.”

A network marketing business is a great way to create a ‘residual income’ that gives you more time. More time to spend with your children, go on vacations, help others… more time to do the things you want to do, when you want to do them.

Here’s to your success!
