A Mastermind Event Original Series.

How important are customers? If you want to build a long-term, stable Network Marketing business, customers are more important than most people realize.

In this live recording from Mastermind Event 2014, I make “The Case for Customers in Network Marketing.”

• I share a brief history of the three phases of Network Marketing;
Define the “modern era of Network Marketing;”
Outline the benefits of customers to the field and the company;
• Introduce customers ratios;
Go over some case studies;
Cover how to increase volume per distributor circle over time;
• Reveal how to minimize dips;
Illustrate shareable analogies; and

Paint a picture of the future of Network Marketing as we enter the ‘customer era.’

This forward-thinking talk was given nearly a year before government regulatory agencies in the U.S. impacted the Network Marketing profession through newly proposed customer requirements through case law. Yes, it’s important.

SHARE this audio with your team to help them build a more stable business.

  1. I recently purchased ( at retail ) an item from an mlm company that had a warning posted on the online order form that said they would prosecute anyone who contacted their independent rep for the purpose of introducing him or her to another direct sales/mlm company. Is that legal ? I wouldn’t want to be a part of a company that threatens even their retail customers with “prosecution”.

  1. i would like to help people see there is a viable alternative to produce income, so that they can enjoy the feeling of liberation that gives to them

  2. I want to be financially free – I don’t want to spend the rest of my life saddled with debt while working a J-O-B. I’ve seen every generation before me in my family work and work and work the traditional way and they were miserable for it because most of the money they got from their jobs went to debt and bills. They never had time to relax and enjoy themselves because the question always hung over their heads: will there be enough money to get by?

    I want to be happy. I don’t want to spend the rest of my days worrying if I’ll ever have enough. And by being a top earner, I know I won’t go through the same stress that my relatives went and STILL go through.

  3. The ONE reason I will become a top income earner in my company is to fund a non-profit my sister and I are forming to assist ageing homeowners to stay in their homes by helping with taxes, repairs and other homeowner expenses that become burdensome or impossible for them to pay for.

  4. Intake to Deliver the steps of what others need to pull themselves up and over their hurdles changes us all for the better.

  5. Within every inch of my being, I know I was born to do this. Now. I just need to prove it to myself – I’m not crazy. This is who I am. And this business is the vehicle I am supposed to use.

  6. Becoming a top earner in my company will open up other doors of opportunity for me such as being able to make a difference in the lives of others by helping them to become solution centres for their communities, families and countries.

  7. I would love to be a top earner because it means I would be I empowering and improving the lives of thousands through my business. I would also have the financial means to give back to my church and help thousands more!

  8. Ever since my company closed I’ve been in a state of melancholy. I fear failure and I just feel like I need to reconnect but haven’t received or found that signal, the one message that makes sense and inspires to move forward again. I guess I really just need to hearand be reminded of the good things that are out there industry wide.

    • Nicole, the only way you can fail is to give up. This profession is full of challenge, and it is our resolve to continually build and rebuild that will get us through the down times. Know that you are not alone, and all you need to do is to reach like you have to find those that understand and can support you in your time of need. All of us in this profession are here for you.

  9. Network Marketing is a profession that appeals to my beingness, as within it is a passion – a tremendous passion of mine – personal and professional development. I absolutely LOVE this opportunity!

I JUST DON’T HAVE THE TIME…

Millions of successful entrepreneurs and network marketers started their business during their spare time. How often have you heard, “I’d like to, but I just don’t have the time”?

There are 168 hours in every week. Where does the time go? Let’s take a look:

TimeForMoney600You can either spend those 30 hours of ‘spare time’ on entertainment or use them to pursue your dream.

KICKING THE ENTERTAINMENT HABIT…

What separates the wealthy from the masses?

• The masses spend their “spare time” on entertainment.
• The wealthy spent most of their “spare time” building a business.

This is the great divide between the haves and the have-nots.

According to studies, the average person now spends over 5 hours a day on entertainment. Entertainment doesn’t always have to be television, it can be scrolling through Facebook on your smart phone, binge watching multiple episodes of a show on a tablet, watching sports, playing videos games, etc.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t enjoy any entertainment, but do so in moderation. Entertainment shouldn’t eat up nearly a third of your waking hours each day.

Don’t do that.

How much is the “entertainment habit” costing you? $10,000 a year? $100,000 a year? A million a year? More? What if kicking the entertainment habit could make you wealthy?

START A BUSINESS IN YOUR ‘ SPARE TIME’…

Fact is, if you want to be wealthy, you’ll probably have to start a part-time business. You don’t have to quit your job right away; in fact, you probably shouldn’t. One of the best ways to minimize your risk is to keep your full-time job while you start building your business during your “spare time.”

As Jim Rohn would often say, “Work full-time on your job and part-time on your fortune because profits lead to fortune.”

Do that.

Then you can say, “Right now I’m working part-time on my fortune and full-time on my job, but it won’t be long until I’ll be working full-time on my fortune. Can you imagine what life is going to be like?”

Eventually you’ll say, “My part-time business did so well that I was able to quit my full-time job. Now I can use those extra hours to build my business bigger.”

BUY BACK YOUR TIME…

If your business creates a passive income, it can help you to ‘buy back your time.’

Passive income (also referred to as residual income), is an income received on a regular basis, with little effort required to maintain it.

Intellectual property income like royalties from a book, an album or licensing a patent; interest income; property income; or income from a business that no longer requires much direct involvement; these are all examples of passive income.

Many people are now realizing that a network marketing business can be started in their ‘spare-time’ and, if built properly, can produce a great passive income for them.

What does ‘buy back your time’ mean? It means the weekly passive income created from your business more than covers the income you were earning by working for someone else. The passive income literally ‘buys back’ all those job hours for you. Since your business earns you a passive income, you no longer need to trade your time for money.

TURN ‘FREE TIME’ INTO ‘FREEDOM TIME!”

Most people say they have ‘no time’ to pursue their dreams. Yet, most people spend about 5 hours a day of their ‘free time’ on entertainment.

Some people use that ‘free time’ to start a part-time business. Eventually, when their business allows them to quit their job, their 40 ‘job time’ hours become 40 ‘business-building’ hours. And over time, by leveraging their business into a residual income, they replace their ‘business-building’ hours with an extra 40 ‘free-time’ hours! Combined with their existing 30 ‘free-time’ hours, they now have a total of 70 ‘freedom-time’ hours every week!

Freedom Time: When you have both the time and the money to live your dream life.

With a passive-income business, your 168 hours every week could look like this:

PassiveIncome600

HOW ARE YOU SPENDING YOUR ‘SPARE TIME’?

We all have the same 24 hours each day. Beyoncé, Richard Branson, Oprah, Elon Musk, along with every successful entrepreneur and Network Marketer all have the same 24 hours each day. It’s your choice how you spend your “spare time.” Choose wisely. #NoExcuses

COMMENT BELOW! If all your “work time” became “free time,” what’s one of the first things you would do? How would your life change?

Create your success!

  1. I would write a second book, and paint paint paint – till I dropped. Well I would take the time to invent and from that start a new business but only for 1 day a week. 6 days to dream and act out the dreams, one day to work with all my heart and passion, and the new insight.

  2. I would be there for my 5 children educating them the best skills to leave a better lives than i have leaved. Cause being there for what i have honesly natured is the best thing in my life.

  3. if my Work time Became my free time, i’ll spend it in Building People, Sharing How my work time became my Free Time. part of to my Family.

  4. If my work time became my free time I’d volunteer in my community, travel the world with my family, and then probably continue to do the work I do right now for free – simply because I love my work!

  5. This reminds me of the Dave Ramsey phrase, “Like no one else so you can live like no one else”. If all of my work time was converted to free time I would volunteer in many other areas for the food pantry, homeless shelters and visit with the elderly more often. It’s coming.

  6. When I am in the position to have enough money, so I don’t have to worry about paying bills…what a loaded question. I have asked that to myself very often since I have gotten in network marketing one year ago. What would give me the most fulfillment would be helping others. I want to be a leader to help new associates coming into MLM be successful. Everyone comes into this business for one reason or another. They all want to change their lives. It would mean so much to me if I can be a mentor to them, just like people showed up for me. THAT, is what I want to do. God willing, I will be in a position in the next 3-4 years to do just that.

    IN addition, I want to give my time and money to Wounded Warriors projects. They give their lives for us, that is the least I can do for them. They are getting a bad rap and come home with DSD and no limbs. They need our help. That would be where my heart is, as it is now. I give as much as I can now, but it’s not very much. I am hoping that can change.

    Thank you for asking this question.

  7. I would definitely travel more and visit family and friends in other states and countries. I would make my health and wellness more of a priority and hire a personal CHEF and trainer AND I’d long to find a way to help the elderly who live such lonely lives. They give so much to so many and it’s so sad for me to see how so many in assisted living facilities and nursing homes are so “alone” and bored. I think that make their minds even more confused..just sitting and waiting. If I had ALOT of money I would get with the right people and design and build facilities that encourage community with inside “front porches” and ensure there was incentives to have ample caring, capable and well paid staff to care for the residents and not be limited by the ratios that the government approves. It’s far too little help for the number of residents. It’s a dream as I watch my handicapped mom now living at the mercy of those regulations and I’d give more to charitable organizations and help those in need. I really liked the show Secret Millionaires…I’d like to be one! :)

  8. I will use it to invest in myself. Sometimes that would look like reading, studying various home study materials, going to Yoga classes, meditating, various development courses around my area. I will use it to network more. I will use it to rest. I will use it to build my business to that next level. I will use it to do whatever I want to do because it will be mine.

  1. Congratulations Orrin! It is an honor to have been present at such an exciting day for you. You are constantly setting the pace and leading by example. I thank God everyday for giving my husband and I the opportunity to learn from you. God bless :)

  2. Mr. Woodward, Many, many best wishes for the New Year and congratulations for the obviously well deserved honor you recently received! Sara Marble told me about the Mastermind Event training, website, and blog! I’m so excited to learn more about becoming a better leader and self growth!

  3. Many congratulations on the world record. My wife and I were inspired by you at our first Mastermind last year and have enjoyed, been inspired by and helped our team with your ideas in the books we bought.

  4. Congratulations Orrin, what an amazing accomplishment, I appreciate your words and encouragement. In 2015 the record I choose to break is to help create 50 new builders on my team, and amplifying the lifestyle I already live, serving more by opening a food pantry for the needy, traveling to warmer climates 5 times a year and earning enough money to homeschool my children and give them the greatest life experiences with me, changing lives.

  5. Congratulations Mr. Woodward on the record, and thanks for being an inspiration to us all.
    The personal record that I plan on breaking is getting more eyeballs looking at my presentation than anyone on my team and see if I can get 100 people in a row to say no, after looking at a complete presentation. I know proper exposure is everything and the more no’s I can get through, the more yes’s I will find.

    Thank you for sharing what you have learned to make me and others become better leaders.

  8. Congrats Orrin, it was such an honor to be present when this conquest happened. And even more grateful to have been able to take part in working the lines.

  9. Orrin -

    Congratulations on your amazing Guinness world record as the largest book signing. More important to me is the knowledge you share in your books on leadership with everyone in our profession.

  10. Congratulations, Mr. Woodward, you deserve this. I’m so honored to have heard you at the Mastermind Event in Orlando. You never seemed rushed, when you signed our books. And you are so willing to help others. We appreciate it.
